Steam
Class: Science on Screen (University of Colorado in Boulder) Aim: To produce a short final film The following documentary film was produced for my Science On Screen class (CINE4004) at the University of Colorado in Boulder in Fall 2019. The film focuses on the steam infrastructure at the University of Colorado in Boulder and contrasts it to the similar system in the New York City, trying to find different opinions among the people who work in that area or who are simply curious. The film starts with a quote from “Recycled Images: The Art and Politics of Found Footage Films” by William Wees, highlighting the idea of the creation of the story with a personal opinion about steam and its future destiny. I do not own rights for films "A Brief History of Time" directed by Errol Morris, "Night Mail" directed by Harry Watt and Basil Wright, "The Thing" directed by John Carpenter, "W.I.S.O.R" directed by Michel Negroponte, for found footage from The Library of Congress, Coasterfan2105 YouTube channel, and for images of steam locomotive diagram from Wikipedia and Murdock's locomotive from Catskill Archive.
