Cavo x Zine Rooftop Session

Client: DJ Cavo and DJ Zine Aim: To film individual and joint DJ sets to promote record-mixing skills Several initial meetings with clients focused on choosing the appropriate location for the recording of DJ sets. Originally, a remote location surrounded by a mountainous landscape was chosen; however, due to problems with logistics and obtaining filming permits, it was agreed to use a rooftop with a city landscape. The project came to life after finding an amazing rooftop location in Downtown Denver, Colorado, with the Coors Stadium two blocks away in the background. The production heavily focused on club lighting and required five lighting sources. Two key light Nanlite Pavo Tube LED Tubes were placed above the camera on a C-stand, two fill light Nanlite Pavo Tube LED Tubes were placed on photography stands on each side of the DJ table, and one ARRI 650W Fresnel was bounced off a 42x42" mirror 12 feet above the ground to create an artificial moonlight to the right of the camera. The project was filmed in a dual-camera configuration with RED DSMC2 Dragon-X 6K (Rokinon Xeen 50mm) on a dana dolly and Sony a7iii (Sony FE 24-70mm) on a motorized slider.
